Proudly placing his work between art and design Spanish designer Guillermo Santomá (1984- ) first produced a range of chairs using natural hard materials such as glass, metal and rock in 2016. The following year he developed a range of furniture made entirely from foam. Each of these works started as a Play-Doh model made by the artist, which were 3D-scanned and carved into layers of foam by a computer numeric controlled (CNC) Mill. Red is made from ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam, covered in four layers of bright red car paint.
