The design has won numerous awards and including the Compasso d’Oro and features in many museum collections. Weighing just 3.5kgs the Belling features a matt texture finish which looks like leather and increases friction for the sitter. This consideration is also extended to the legs which are fitted with pads to reduce slippage and prevent scuffing. The slightly concaved back is designed to flex to provide good back support for the sitter.
